The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office responsibilities cover all of Gloucester County. The members of the Sheriff’s Office are dedicated to protecting life and property. While providing the traditional services of the Sheriff, we stand ready to support and augment all other law enforcement agencies. Traditional services provided by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office include:
- Court security for superior courts.
- Apprehension of county fugitives.
- Civil process which includes serving summonses, complaints, writs of execution, foreclosures and sales of real property.
- Transporting new arrestees to jail

Agency Basic Requirments
The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office is a New Jersey Civil Service Commission Law Enforcement jurisdiction, therefore, all phases of the recruitment, selection and hiring process for entry level law enforcement positions conform to the rules and regulations established by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.
